"Art at Heart" Chu Tat-shing Art Exhibition was held at the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto from August 4 to August 13. Over 30 artworks were showcased, including lifelike portrait sculptures, abstract sculptures imbued with philosophical flavor and life wisdom, rarely exhibited paintings that are highly appreciated by the art world, rarely seen initial drafts of models, and videos of the sculpture creation process. The highlights of the exhibition included a life-size (5'8") “side-kick posture” Bruce Lee statue created to commemorate his 50th death anniversary, a statue of Dr.Sun Yat-sen studying at the University of Hong Kong in a long gown, a Cantonese pop diva Anita Mui’s bust that had never been publicly exhibited, and a remolded bust of "Hong Kong's daughter" Dr. Tse Yuen-man, who sacrificed in SARS 20 years ago. The "cursive script" sculptures and pictures of Hong Kong public artworks were also very captivating.

Mr. Chu engaged with the public in an open dialogue, exploring the pivotal role of art and culture in bridging Eastern and Western sensibilities. The session also touched upon the challenges faced by artists and creative professionals in the era of artificial intelligence. English translation will be provided for our diverse audience.

The enlightenment continued on Sunday, August 6, with a unique demonstration and workshop on portrait sculpture. This golden opportunity allowed participants to learn firsthand from a master sculptor how to create a fist-sized portrait sculpture.

The exhibition has received full support from the Cultural, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Toronto. On the opening day, distinguished guests unveiled the Bruce Lee statue, kicking off the "Art at Heart" Chu Tat-shing Art Exhibition and Hong Kong Week 2023.
